The Semi-Circle Play Readings

The very first Semi-Circle event in May 1975 was a reading of Oscar Wilde's "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime". This was followed in 1976 by a reading in costume of GB Shaw's "Heartbreak House" (see picture). Both events were sponsored by The British Circle from which the name "The Semi-Circle" was derived.

This play reading tradition has been carried on and, from 1989 has been arranged on a regular basis being in its current format from the early 2000's to today.

As you can see from our "What's On" page we continue with readings every month.

A full list of the plays we have read from the early 2000's to today can be viewed here.
